The morning departure takes us by the 4×4 car fromOuarzazate to the Todra gorges via the oasis of Skoura, travelling off-road to see all the kasbahs, some sadly in a state of disrepair but idyllically placed amongst the palm trees. The main road passes through the valley of the roses, the road of a thousand kasbahs and theDades valley to the Todra gorges where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, our trip continues to the dunes of Merzouga for a two-hour camel ride to reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi (250m). From the top of the dunes thesunset is spectacular. Here, atErg Chebbi, we will have dinner and spend the night in a campsite.
The return to the hostel inMerzouga for having a shower is on camel back and, after having breakfast, we drive by the 4×4 to the Dra’a valley and Ouarzazatepassing by the villages ofRissani, Alnif, Tazzarine (now appearing in the film of ‘Babel’) and N’Qob where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we drive off-roadalong the Draa valley and theancient road of caravanssurrounded by palm trees and full of ancient Kasbahs such as the most well-known one ofTamnougalte. We rejoin the paved road in Agdez and reach Ouarzazate at the end of the day, crossing the Anti-Atlas and the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifite (1660m).
